Country Bumpkin Farm Market
about us

We started Country Bumpkin Farm Market 15 years ago, in the spring of 1997, with the idea of doing something good with our land we purchased from Charlie's mom & dad years earlier.  We wanted to develop something of our very own, and so the farm market came to be, first with strawberries.  Starting small, we've happily built our business slowly, and are always adding new ideas.

Our main goal is to be a reliable source of many fruits and vegetables which we grow & harvest ourselves and make available when in season.   We grow over 50 different berries, fruits, and vegetables so that we have "whatever the customer wants."

Freshness is another goal.  We pick everything fresh "as needed" on a daily basis.  Customers driving out to our market can enjoy that "just picked" garden flavor and aroma.  We want to provide the freshest products loaded with nutrients and the essentials of life.  Most important, our production methods include both sustainable and some organic practices.

We are open daily from late April until November 1, from 10 am (actually 9am, 'cause that's when the first customers always show up!) until 6 pm.  Every month is different at Country Bumpkin Farm Market!   Starting with asparagus and lots of flower baskets & potted arrangements in late April and May, we move into the frenzy of June's U-Pick & We-Pick strawberry season.

July, August, and September are the height of the season for raspberries & blueberries (both We-Pick and U-Pick), tomatoes, sweet corn, watermelons, muskmelons, and LOTS of other goodies!

Fall decorating completes Country Bumpkin's busy growing season along with giving hay wagon rides so everyone can pick a pumpkin in the pumpkin patch!  Plus there is always something new for the family to enjoy!  We want to add a new fun family activity every year, and do most of our planning and building during our down time in the winter.  We've got lots of great ideas!
If you're wondering who the "big guys" are in our photos, they are Duke, our big black labrador, who is very popular with the majority of our customers -- in fact, sometimes they stop in just 'cuz they've got to SEE HIM !!  He's been with us now for over ten years.  And then there's D-O-Z-E-R, our bull mastiff.  He looks like a "dozer", doesn't he?  As in "bulldozer", ha!  He's actually very sweet and on the shy side, despite being larger than our daughter, Debbie!  In the last photo, Debbie is helping her dad make trenches for planting onions --3,000 of them !!
